Things to do in Chiba

Chiba Prefecture’s appeal is wide-ranging, including nature, tourism, food, and industry.
Despite being close to Tokyo, it is rich in nature, including the sea, mountains, and
satoyama (secondary forest), making it a popular leisure and relocation destination. It also
has a wide range of tourist facilities, including large theme parks and outlet malls. For more
information, please visit https://www.visitchiba.jp/
Here, I will introduce the area around Kain Tulog.

Chiba Park

A place of relaxation for Chiba citizens. You can ride a boat on the pond. Would you like to
jog with me? The cherry blossoms are beautiful in spring. Lotus flower in June. There is a bakery “Bread, Espresso &”. I recommend “Mou” cube-shaped bread.

Natural Hot Spring

Raranoyu is 30 minutes away from Kain Tulog. Take the suspended monorail listed in the Guinness World Records. The natural hot spring is an open-air bath. There are many different kinds of baths and sauna. Raranoyu also has a restaurant and massage. Guide fee 3,000 yen per person.

Naritasan-Temple

My guests are interested in Japanese temples. Narita is a tourist spot that can be reached in 30 minutes from Chiba Station. The way to the temple from Narita Station is fun. There are many eel (unagi) restaurants. Chiba people have been eating eel for a long time. Unagi Street in Narita has become a Chiba’s specialty. Guide fee 3,000 yen per person.

Fishing in Tokyo Bay

You can go fishing in Tokyo Bay. The target fish are horse mackerel, mackerel, hairtail, sillago, Spanish mackerel, octopus, etc. The boat house will provide you with the equipment and bait. There is a toilet on the boat. The cost is about 10,000 yen. Take the first JR train in the morning from Chiba to Funabashi. You will take home the fish you caught and cook them by yourself. It will be a great experience. Guide fee 5,000 yen per person.

Japanese Bread Cooking

In Japan, there’s a saying: “Ichijuu Issai” (one soup and one dish). It consists of rice, miso soup, and pickles. While rice remains the staple food, in recent years, a food culture in which bread is enjoyed on a daily basis has taken root. Bread now exceeds rice in the average household’s grocery spending. Japanese breads are unique, including an pan, cream pan, yakisoba pan, and croquette pan. There are also special occasion breads for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and more. Why not join us in making Japanese bread? Participation fee 5,000 yen per person.

Character Bento

Totoro Character Bento (Chara Ben). It is a very popular menu among inbound tourists. A little difficult to make, but when you finish, it is amazing. A guest from the Philippines actively participated. She was so delighted. We can also make Mickey Mouse and Pokemon Character Bento. Participation fee 4,000 yen per person.

Tea Ceremony

Tea ceremony is the traditional Japanese way of serving matcha (powdered green tea) to guests. There are various rules, including how to prepare the tea, how to drink it, how to sit, how to bow, how to stand, and how to walk. The spirit of hospitality is highly valued, and participants are expected to appreciate beauty and respect harmony through the process. Participation fee 4,000 yen per person.

Fruit and Vegetable Picking

Chiba is a thriving agricultural prefecture. Enjoy picking pears (photo source: Chiba Travel Guide), strawberries, grapes, blueberries, peanuts, and sweet potatoes. Chestnut picking is available from August to October. Make chestnut rice. Guide fee 3,000 yen per person.

Due to space restrictions, I have only introduced eight places, but there are other
recommendations. I will be happy to provide information, so please feel free to ask.
